Scheduling and Service Details

  • Foaming is typically caused by one or more of three factors: temperature, pressure, or system imbalance. This could be due to:

    1. Warm beer lines (ideal temperature is 36-38 degrees)

    2. Incorrect CO2/Gas pressure settings.

    3. A system component, like a regulator or faucet, malfunctioning. We can dispatch a technician to diagnose and correct the exact cause quickly.

  • Beer stone is a hard, mineral buildup (primarily calcium oxalate) that forms inside the beer lines. It provides a rough surface where bacteria and yeast can cling and multiply. If not removed with acidic line cleaner, beer stone will lead to off-flavors (sour or butterscotch notes) and excessive foaming. Our cleaning service includes using both caustic and acid solutions to completely eliminate beer stone.

  • The universally accepted ideal serving temperature for most lagers and ales is 36-38 degrees. We measure the temperature at the faucet, ensuring your system is consistently hitting this target.

  • A Foam on Beer (FOB) detector, also known as a beer saver, is a small device installed in the beer line close to the keg. Its purpose is to detect when a keg runs empty. When the keg kicks, the FOB instantly shuts off the flow of beer. This prevents the line from filling with foam, which significantly reduces wasted beer and eliminates the time a bartender spends clearing a foamy line when changing a keg.

  • A glycol chiller is the core component of any long draw draught system. It works by pumping a refrigerated solution (usually a mix of food-grade glycol and water) through insulated tubing that runs alongside your beer lines. This constant circulation of cold liquid maintains the beer's temperature at 36-38 degrees or below, even over long distances, ensuring the beer is perfectly chilled when it reaches the tap.

  • System balance is critical to prevent foaming and maintain quality. We calculate this balance precisely using industry formulas, ensuring the beer flows out of the faucet smoothly at a rate of about 2oz per second.

  • A direct draw system is where the keg is kept in a refrigerated cabinet or walk-in cooler directly below or behind the taps (e.g., a kegerator or short run through a wall). A remote draw system uses a separate refrigerated keg room or walk-in, with the beer traveling longer distances (sometimes hundreds of feet) to the taps via a chilled glycol trunk line. We specialize in both designs.
